The agreement for using the app and the website.
The agreement
By using https://sagotsakalam.com and the Sagot sa Kalam app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use it. The app is free and there is no paid tier.
What it is for
It is a collection of Filipino home cooking: ingredients, methods, and videos by their creators. It is meant for personal use — cooking at home, learning, and sending a link to a friend.
The videos
We host no video. Every one is embedded from YouTube and belongs to the creator named beneath it. When you press play it comes from YouTube itself and counts toward their views.
If you own a video and would rather it were not embedded here, email hello@sagotsakalam.com and we will remove it. You don't have to explain why.
The recipes
An ingredient list and a cooking method are a procedure — nobody owns adobo or sinigang. The wording we wrote, and what contributors sent us, belongs to us and to them, and every contribution carries its credit.
If you spot a dish attributed wrongly — the wrong province, the wrong name, or text of yours we picked up by mistake — tell us at hello@sagotsakalam.com and we will correct or remove it.
If you contribute
- Your recipe and video stay yours. You are only giving us permission to publish it in the app and on the site, with your credit and a link to your channel.
- You confirm that you made it, or that you have the right to share it.
- You can have it taken down at any time — just email us.
- We don't promise to publish every contribution.
What you may not do
- Don't copy the whole dish database to build a competing app or site.
- Don't run bots or scrapers that load the server.
- Don't send a recipe that isn't yours, or anything obscene, defamatory or deceptive.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is". We work hard to get every detail right, but we cannot guarantee that a time, a difficulty, an ingredient or a dish's origin is free of error. A creator may take a video down or change it at any time. We may also change or discontinue the service.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from its use. Please also read the cooking and allergy note — that one matters.

There are links here to YouTube and other sites. We do not control what is on them and are not responsible for them.
Changes and governing law
We may change these terms; the date above will change with them. The laws of the Republic of the Philippines govern, and Philippine courts have jurisdiction.
